Flat and wrap-around, prescored SureTops™ are easy to ship, store and install. They assure properly formed drilled pier tops, prevent concrete waste and eliminate damage from expansive soil uplift. To use the flat style, simply open, shape, install and manually fill with concrete to the required, top-of-caisson elevation. Wrap-around Commercial SureTops™ offer one step assembly and are ideal for use in areas not suited for I-piece, rigid forms shaping piers with long rebar projections or returns that are larger than form diameters Unroll SureTops, place around reinforcing, position interlocking ends, insert wooden spline connector, position and fill manually to the desired elevation.

Construction, Composition & Finishes:  Commercial SureTops™ are manufactured of corrugated plastic or paper material. They are designed to withstand imposed loads during construction. Paper products should be kept dry prior to use.

Handling and Storage:  All SureVoid® Products should be kept dry at all times, prior to concrete placement. MSDS information available upon request.

 Commercial SureTops™ In Use

Commercial SureTops™ and SureRound PierVoid® are used along with WallVoid® to create a total system approach to your concrete protection requirements.
 The Wrong Way...
The pier top pictured to the left was poured using a bucket as a form.

In the picture to the right, concrete was simply slopped into the drilled pier without using any form at all.

While this may have seemed to be a savings in labor and/or materials at the time, the result is a pier that mushrooms out at the top (above left), greatly increasing the area for uplift pressures on the top of the caisson by expansive soils beneath.

The cost of additional concrete used to pour pier top without proper forming exceeds the cost of forming the top properly with a Commercial SureTop, disregarding the additional savings with SureTops in regard to labor.

While reshaping a pier top (above center and above right) may address the problems associated with a mushroomed pier top, this process is very time consuming and expensive.

 The Right Way...
Use of Commercial SureTops™ ensures that drilled piers are formed as they were designed to be... straight and strong, without any mushrooming at the top.
